As we step into the holiday season, we will have a lot of celebrations and parties. Every time there is a party around the corner, we keep exploring what to wear to look the most stylish. For years, fictional characters have inspired us for various celebrations. Especially for occasions like Halloween and Christmas, we have a lot of reference points to get inspired from.
Do you want to know which fictional characters can inspire you this season? Let’s explore.
Dressing Up Like Your Favorite Fictional Character For The Holiday Season
There is no dearth of fantasy characters to get inspired from for celebrations. There are many characters who have inspired us during our growing-up years, and there are many that continue to inspire us now.
Here, I have curated the options which I think will be easy to emulate.
Maleficent Costume
Suppose you are planning your outfit for a Halloween party and an evil-themed party. You can take your inspiration from the famous Disney villainess, Maleficent. She has been the quintessential evil queen for many of us.
Getting ready in a Maleficent costume is not difficult at all. You can get a long leather gown in black. You can team it with the typical horned headgear with boots and a wand.
If you don’t even want to go for an exact emulation, you can wear a sheer black slip dress and team it with a headgear and a pair of heels.
In addition, if you want to increase the oomph factor, you can keep the vibe of the Maleficent Halloween costume intact by wearing a bodycon dress with heels.
Kim Possible Costume
This teenage fictional character has been an inspiration for many. The youngsters will love to dress like her as she knows how to be brave in the face of difficulties.
Getting ready as Kim Possible is very easy. You just need a pair of beige cargo pants with a black crop top and shoes.
If you want to copy her look exactly, you will also need a red wig or hair extension for yourself.
Further, there are many antagonists in Kim Possible. So, if you want something really evil, you can take inspiration from Dr. Drakken, Bonnie Rockwaller, and Shego.
Even if it’s not an exact copy, you can go for funky college-goer outfits and keep the vibe of the character intact.
Harry Potter Costume
Are you looking for clothes for celebrations? Let’s travel to Hogwarts School this season. Along with the protagonist Harry Potter, you will also have many other characters like Professor Albus Dumbledore, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood, Lord Voldemort, and Hermione Granger to copy.
The popular costumes to copy among all these characters are, of course, Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.
To copy the look of Lord Voldemort, you will need a long black robe with a white evil mask. To look like Harry Potter, you will need a white shirt, a maroon cardigan, a black cloak, a wizard’s hat, and the signature Harry Potter glasses.
You can even copy the look of Professor Dumbledore. For that, you will need a long lavender-colored robe, a pair of glasses and a cap. If you have naturally long hair and a beard, those can be an added advantage for you. Otherwise, you can get an artificial beard and hair to get ready for the celebration.

Pennywise Costume
Do you want your outfit to be really scary for the next party you are attending? You can choose a Pennywise costume for you.
One of the creepiest characters to come across, Pennywise, wears the outfit of a Joker, and it stands out due to the crude makeup and almost bald hair.
To copy the look of Pennywise, you will need to wear a Joker’s costume in a light beige or ash color. Now, you can complete the look by painting your face white with a red nose and wig,
Pay special attention to your eye makeup if you want to scare the hell out of everyone. Take a red paint and draw lines around your eyes to look like Pennywise.
Joker Costume
Who could imagine that a joker seen in a circus and entertaining us would be so scary? Thanks to various comics and fantasy characters, and movies released in recent times, jokers have been one of the most feared characters of recent times.
So, if you want to copy Johnny Depp’s look from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you will need a maroon suit with a magician’s hat, boots, and a wand. Paint your face white to bring the creepiness of the character alive.
However, if you are more inspired by the jokers in the movies, take inspiration from The Dark Knight or Joker. To recreate Heath Ledger’s Joker, you will need a purple suit, and you can team it with white face paint and scary makeup.
To look like Joaquin Phoenix in Joker, you will need to wear a maroon suit with a yellow waistcoat.
Final Words
Fantasy characters always have been a source of inspiration when we are dressing up for special occasions. Along with the characters I have discussed, you can also take inspiration from Holly Golightly, Emily in Paris, Bridgerton, Vikings, etc.
So, what are you going to wear for the holiday party this year? Don’t forget to share!
