Pfeiffer cites the popularity of Melvor Idle as proof of how talent can emerge from the community of any game that Jagex has discovered already. "We've always found to be able to count on the RuneScape community to be an excellent resource of potential talent to Jagex not only in terms of game developers but also in the many roles within a games studio," he says. "RuneScape has had more than 300 million accounts created over 20 years, so the number of skilled players who have played the game is massive."

After the success of the partnership in the past with Games By Malcs, Pfeiffer is keen to work more with indie devs around the world , particularly if they're working on initiatives that "align with the design philosophy of RuneScape and Jagex's core values", and he's hoping Melvor Idle's success will encourage many indie developers to reach to Jagex Studios.

With the version 1.0 of Melvor Idle out, Games By Malcs and Jagex are working on new content, and additional titles to be set within the Melvor universe. Malcolm remains grateful to Jagex for its ongoing help, especially when it comes to introducing new players.

"They have also been excellent in ensuring that Melvor Idle can reach more people than I've ever could have done by myself for both players within the RuneScape community and over the horizon," his statement.
