As far as I can tell, each and every one of them wants this because, at this point, participating in something like this isn't really done for the experience; rather, it is done in order to gain any sort of celebrity status, or to be the one who receives the torch from whoever has been chosen to carry it for the next several years, rather than for the experience itself. If you are trying to figure out whether it is better to play against Player 1 or Player 8 in the tournament, this will not help your chances of winning. Completing the mission without the assistance of a mercenary, on the other hand, will be significantly more difficult than it would be with their assistance. This is true despite the fact that I'm running; I'm saying it because I've encountered users who haven't brought mercenaries with them, and despite the fact that they're well-equipped, they always end up dying in Mephisto, which is a shame. Okay, I'll just move them to the bottom of the priority list for the time being, and then we can get this party started aSoon as we possibly can.
