The Air Jordan 5 Low "Doernbecher" is part of this year's Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2022 collection, designed by 11-year-old Michael Wilson, who suffers from a serious neurological disorder called Krabbe disease.
Michael's Air Jordan 5 Low was inspired by his love of airplanes, sharks, macs and cheeses - with notches on the toe and collar, and a matching dubrae. Other details include cool interchangeable patches that allow you to wear it however you want, and a laser eye under the mesh in the midfoot nods to his choice of super power. It also includes the "Take Flight" logo on the side, an added rear pull tab, the initials "MDW" (MDW) on the heel, and a colorful lining on the translucent outsole with a graphic reveal at the bottom.
