Located in the wooded hinterland of Cibola, Gobetasia is an unrecognized nation of demon-worshipers. Its inhabitants are from the most fractious nations of Micras and have long lived in secrecy, surviving only by scavenging on the outskirts of cities of the various empires that control parts of Cibola. When the Alexandrian Flu almost destroyed the Community, their future became uncertain.

Initially, the Community stayed hidden in their scattered family compounds. But as time went by, the families began to grow more unified, with their own churches and common taboos. By 1661, twelve years after the flu, they had formed the Community of Goetia and gained a degree of recognition from the MCS. Goetia is governed by the International Master Demonist (IMD), whose authority is recognized by all families and both associations. It is the most powerful position in Goetia, though the exact duties of the IMD are unclear.

The Community is arranged around six town centers, each centered on a family compound and linked by highways. The cycle families continue to keep their names, traditions, and memberships, but they have merged into larger groups known as Cult Families. As the Community has grown, it has embraced modern conveniences and expanded its trade relations. The Conference of Cycle Families has taken charge of SATCo, the community's trading company, and it has become a lucrative business that is largely controlled by the Conference Treasurer. There is also a growing number of Goetics who are asexual or demisexual, and a growing number of people who choose to worship their demons by engaging in long-term self-imposed chastity.

The Community's main exports are processed foods, spices, and metal goods. Its imports are weapons, chemicals, and raw materials.
