Managing natural grass surfaces in schools is a huge challenge. They need regular watering, chemical treatments and mowing to stay green and safe for children to play on.

Coed Flag Football

Flag football is a non-contact sport that is becoming increasingly popular. It offers an alternative to tackle football, which is often viewed as dangerous for girls and young women. Because of its low-contact nature, it is also more affordable to play than traditional tackle football.

Team members must wear a helmet and mouthpiece. Players may not carry a flag on their shoulders or have more than one flag on the body. The ball carrier must not touch his or her hands to the ground, run directly into a defender or jump over a fallen defender.

The end zone is a 10-yard area located at both ends of the field. A player who crosses the end zone scores a touchdown. The game also features “no run zones,” which are five yards before each goal line and the midfield. A runner who enters these areas must use a pass play to gain a first down or score a touchdown.

Coed Volleyball

Volleyball is generally seen as a female sport, but it’s becoming increasingly common in recreational and intramural leagues to offer coed teams. The informal structure of these leagues makes them much less competitive, but the players still say they enjoy the team chemistry and fun they have on a coed team.

Generally, these teams are made up of kids with some experience as well as kids who are just getting started. They play in a non-competitive, coed division that promotes the development of skills through playing the game and rallies.

Some clubs and leagues have rules that get very specific about how the sex of the player is handled. For example, they may require that men play only on the back row while women play the front row, and during a tie-breaker set they would switch halfway through. This is an overkill of the rules, and we recommend not taking them to this level.

Coed Basketball

Coed basketball leagues can be fun for all ages, but they’re not without some challenges. It’s important for coaches to encourage teamwork and good sportsmanship between girls, boys, and men on their teams. Studies have shown that boys and girls are more likely to have a better experience on coed teams than they would be on single-gender teams.

There are a number of rules and regulations that differ among schools when it comes to coed basketball. Lewis-Clark State College, for example, requires a minimum of two women and two men on each team during a game. It also enforces an auto-loss if a team is reduced to fewer than four players because of injury or player disqualification.

Some schools also use different rules when it comes to the size of the ball that is used in coed games. Boston University, for instance, uses a women’s basketball during intramural play but switches to a men’s ball when participating in a coed tournament.
