Mastering the Digital Stage: Empowering artists to promote their music on streaming platforms

Mastering the Digital Stage: Empowering artists to promote their music on streaming platforms.

Here are some suggestions for musicians to empower themselves and promote their music clubs:

Leverage social media - Have band members, fans, and club promoters actively post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc. Promote upcoming events, share photos/videos, and engage with commenters to build buzz.

Showcase emerging local talent - Host open mic nights for aspiring musicians. Let them invite friends/family. Audiences will get exposed to great new music and may become regulars.

Offer diverse programming - In addition to performances, host album listening parties, gear workshops, musical meetups around genres (jazz nights, electronic music mixers). Different events will attract different crowds.

Partner with local businesses - Team up with restaurants, cafes, or record stores on events, cross-promotions (their customers get discounts at your club nights), merchandise giveaways. Great for cross-pollinating audiences.

Start a music blog/podcast - Band members can interview each other about creative processes, touring stories, influences. Likewise interview patrons, record reviews/previews, host playlists. Share recording on social channels.

Launch a music club street team - Give biggest fans insider access and perks to spread the word about upcoming club shows in their communities via word-of-mouth marketing.

Offer student discounts - For younger fans still in school, discounted club tickets can make events more accessible. College radio partnerships too. Develop future core audience.

Collaborate on events - Co-produce club nights with other local bands, DJs, or musicians. Each act invites their own following and fanbases merge.
