Computed tomography (CT/CAT scan) is a routinely ordered imaging diagnostic technique that uses 2D and 3D image reconstruction to integrate X-ray pictures from several angles into a single image.

CT Scan

An x-ray tube spins around the patient during CT imaging, collecting several images from various angles. These photos are saved in a computer, which analyses them and creates a new image that is devoid of the underlying structures.

Benefits of CT

  • determining when surgery is required
  • lowering the number of exploratory operations required
  • enhancing cancer detection and treatment
  • lowering the duration of time spent in the hospital
  • assisting in the treatment of common ailments like as injuries, heart disease, and stroke
  • Patient placement in suitable areas of care, such as intensive care units, is being improved.
